iPhone makers come to Talegaon
Moreover, as per the latest buzz in the town Taiwan’s Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronic manufacturer and a key supplier to Apple Inc. has signed a pact with Maharashtra to invest $5billion in a semiconductor manufacturing facility. The state government has offered 1,500 acres land in Talegaon, MIDC Estate
Foxconn founder Terry Gou, said, the company chose Maharashtra for being a financial capital, availability of quality talent and hardware software integration facilities. The CM also stated that this plant would generate more than 50,000 job opportunities. This unit will manufacture for the local as well as exports, which will be helped by the proximity of the proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport. Gou also said that Foxconn is looking for local partners for the Talegaon facility, but declined to say if the Taiwan-based company would make mobile phones there.
